Bardin-Niskala Duo

The Bardin-Niskala Duo (cello and piano) explores identity, promotes cultural awareness, and celebrates humanity during this time of division and racial violence. Their program, entitled “Of Innocence, Loss, and Healing: Songs My Mother Taught Me” includes works by Janacek, Dvorak, Mahler, William Grant Still, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Nadia Boulanger, and the world premiere of a work by Yiheng Yvonne Wu. Wu’s work is the first in a series of works the Duo is commissioning from BIPOC composers, and acknowledges the complex relationships that the performers and composers have with their respective Asian ancestries. www.bardin-niskala-duo.com
