Sunrise Café (231 N. Hanover St., Carlisle) is a breath of New York City air, created by a former Long Island resident, and housed in the former home of John Hays, a Civil War soldier. Calling itself a “New York-inspired Breakfast and Lunch Sandwich Shop,” the café features deli-style sandwiches, baked to order NYC bagels, homemade pastries and more. Sandwich standouts include the Rockefeller Special (pastrami on rye) and Tutto Questo (roast beef and fixings). Homemade sweets include Pignoli Cookies, The Fudgiest Brownie (it is!) and Cornetti de Crema (cream horns).

Hachiko Asian Cuisine (210 William St., Williamsport) features fresh and healthy homemade Asian food made from traditional family recipes. “The Yaki Udon noodles with vegetables and Savory Chinese Crepes are especially tasty.” “Garlic Chicken and Garlic Broccoli are standouts.”
