Becker’s Hospital Review has honored Geisinger President and Chief Executive Officer David T. Feinberg, M.D., MBA, twice this fall, naming him one of the 135 Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know, and one of the 110 Physician Leaders to Know for 2016.
“The men and women on this list lead some of the largest, most successful and prominent nonprofit healthcare organizations in the country,” Becker’s authors wrote in the article announcing the CEO list. “They were selected for this list based on editorial judgment and discretion.”
The Physician Leaders to Know list features hospital and health system presidents and CEOs who also hold medical degrees. “All recipients have demonstrated outstanding leadership and clinical expertise throughout their careers, leading initiatives to improve their individual organizations and the healthcare of the communities they serve,” Becker’s authors wrote about the leaders named.

A longtime champion of the patient experience, he has caught the industry’s attention by introducing Geisinger’s latest evolution of its renowned ProvenCare portfolio, ProvenExperience, which allows patients to request a refund based on the outcome of their patient experiences.
Named to the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare as well as the Top Ten of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders by Modern Healthcare, Dr. Feinberg's awards and recognitions include Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society; Medical Center CEO of the Year Healthcare Leadership Award; and a Leadership, Vision and Commitment Honoree by the National Health Foundation.
