Business Practices for Photographers
Tues/Thurs, July 12 - August 11 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., 1 credit, $430 Brian Tolbert Learn how to operate your own photography business or seek employment in the industry. Topics covered will include: how to determine your cost of doing business (CODB), the value of professional assoication memberships and the importance of copyright. The instructor will review potential markets for your photography business. These include: magazine/editorial, photo-journalism, stock photography, advertising, commercial, industrial, and portrait and wedding photography. Along with determining how to sell and market these types of services, you will gain valuable information on preparing your portfolio and developing a web presence. NOTE: This is a non-studio lecture course. This class counts towards the Digital Photography certificate.
