Leave No Trace: Families
The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics teaches people of all ages how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly, and is the most widely known outdoor ethics education program. In its simplest form, Leave No Trace is about making good decisions to protect the world around you – the world we all enjoy.
The idea is simple – leave the places you enjoy as good as or better than you found them. There are skills and ethics involved, as well as good decision-making. Cleaner water, less campfire impacts, fewer negative encounters with wildlife, less damage/loss of cultural and historic artifacts are just a few of the benefits of adhering to Leave No Trace.
This 2-hour workshop will introduce participants to the basic principles of Leave No Trace while experiencing a place we all love – Shaver’s Creek! The workshop includes a short hike around the Center with stops along the way to explore various Leave No Trace topics. Appropriate for all ages, although best for ages 10-12 and above. Pre-registration is appreciated by contacting Shaver’s Creek.Visit Event Website for More Info
