Lycoming Audubon Society Program
Effects of Marcellus shale development on forest fragmentation
What: Lycoming Audubon Society is hosting a program on the effects of Marcellus shale-gas development on forest fragmentation and the forest bird community in north-central Pennsylvania. Lillie Langlois, PhD Candidate, Wildlife and Fisheries Science at Penn State will be our speaker. Pennsylvania is roughly 60 percent forest, with the largest unbroken block of trees spanning the state’s north central region. The rapid expansion of Marcellus Shale drilling has been breaking up the block, and this is the basis for Lillie’s research, and her presentation.
