Description:

) Seven on Site: Contemporary Landscape Paintings by Martha Armstrong, Sasha Chermayeff, Jane Culp, Judy Koon, Ro Lohin, Lynette Lombard and Megan Williamson, a group of seven contemporary landscape American painters from across the country, will be on exhibit in the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design main gallery, 204 N Prince Street, Lancaster, March 6 through April 17, 2015.

Seven on Site features paintings created in response to space, light and color, as experienced while working outside in the landscape. By choosing to paint en plein air -facing and responding to nature- these artists are placing value on a slow and timeless way of seeing. Mark by mark, each artist translates the world she sees. Not an exact rendering, but rather a painting; an interpretation unique to her view of our fast-paced, modern world. The artworks selected for this exhibition were painted in the U.S. and Europe.

Seven on Site exhibition and supporting activities at PCA&D are funded by a generous grant from The Richard C. von Hess Foundation.

On Thursday, March 26, the public is invited to attend Panel Discussion and Reception at 4 p.m. in the Atrium, at PCA&D, with artists Martha Armstrong, Judy Koon, Ro Lohin, Megan Willamson and moderated by Jennifer Samet, Ph.D., a New York based art historian, curator and writer. In addition, First Friday Receptions will be held on March 6 and April 3.

The Seven on Site exhibit is open Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 17. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The artists Martha Armstrong (Hatfield, MA); Sasha Chermayeff (Hudson Valley); Jane Culp (California); Judy Koon (Chicago); Ro Lohin (Long Island); Lynette Lombard (Galesburg, IL); and Megan Williamson (Chicago) have exhibited together previously including at the at the Oxbow Gallery Northampton, MA, in 2013.
