Italian art of the 14th to 17th centuries

The Institute will host the special presentation, "Italian art of the 14th to 17th centuries," Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. in the Samek Gallery. James Turnure, Samuel H. Kress Professor Emeritus and former acting director of the Samek Gallery, will discuss the place of these paintings in history, how they were made, their views on religion, and subtleties the average viewer might miss. The Kress Collection is located in the Samek Gallery on the third floor of the Elaine Langone Center.
