Vienna Boys Choir in Concert
World-famous touring choir to sing in Harrisburg
Arts on the Square presents the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir in concert at historic Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second Street, Harrisburg, at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 31.
Almost half a million spectators around the world have heard one of the touring choirs, which regularly tour Europe, Asia and Australia, and the Americas. Vienna Choir boys have visited the United States more than 50 times since 1932 and have traveled to all six inhabited continents. On Sundays, the boys perform with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and of the Vienna State Opera Chorus in Vienna’s Imperial Chapel, as they have done since 1498.
The choir’s repertoire includes everything from medieval to contemporary music. Motets and lieder form the core of the touring repertoire, as do the choir’s own arrangements of Viennese music. The choir also performs children’s operas and world music.
The church will provide parking in the attached city-owned Market Square Garage. Patrons may enter the church directly from the first level of the garage or from the entrances on Second Street.
Purchasing tickets in advance at www.marketsquarechurch.org/concerts is recommended. Ticket prices are: $40 Premium Seating (regardless of age); $25 General Seating; and $10 for children and students (in General Seating).
