All About Seed Balls

Children are invited to make seed balls with red milkweed, purple coneflower, and ox-eye sunflower seeds rolled into a mixture of clay and compost. Seed balls tossed in fields are a very efficient way to restore forests and other natural areas and to bring native plants to backyards. Casual play clothes are appropriate for the activity. The free seed ball session will be held at the Lewisburg Children’s Museum, located in the former Lewisburg Area High School building, at 815 Market St., Lewisburg. The event is hosted by the Linn Conservancy as part of its Caring for Communities program of environmental events throughout April.
