Central PA 4th Fest

A daylong, family-oriented, patriotic celebration of our nation's birthday is held each year in State College and on the campus of Penn State. On Tuesday this year, the day starts with Firecracker Fun Runs of 4K and 4Mile distances that start in front of the Bryce Jordan Center. The day continues at the State Theatre in downtown State College at noon with a ceremony to recognize local heroes. That is followed by the America's Got Heroes Parade that steps off at 2 p.m. and marches through town to end at the Penn State sports complex. Live music, kid's activities, free hot dogs and birthday cake, food vendors, and special events lead up to a fantastic choreographed fireworks display that is considered one of the best in the country. This year's special events include Chainsaw Woodcarving, Women's Roller Derby, and BMX Bike demonstrations. Visit 4thFest.org for more information and to purchase VIP Viewing passes and parking.
