A unique celebration of our region’s heritage, the event will center around the Hess Field complex in Danville and feature living history demonstrations, speakers and live music throughout the day July 15. Speakers are hosted at the Thomas Beaver Library. Events are free and open to all ages. A 5K race, historic bike tour and quits tournament (register at DanvilleHeritage.com) round out the events.

Musical highlights include performances by two-time Pennsylvania State fiddle champion Magan McGarry. Historical re-enactors will make “Sherman neck ties” out of real iron T-rails. Speaker Dulais Rhys will talk about Dr. Joseph Perry, Danville’s most famous 19th century musician. Expanded children’s activities.

The weekend concludes July 16 at 6:30 p.m. with a traditional hymn sing in Montgomery Park. More information is at DanvilleHeritage.com
