Lancaster Symphony Orchestra’s Bolero & More!

Xun and Max Pan, piano

Rossini's bubbly L'italiana in Algeri Overture will open the performance with quiet pizzicato building to a sudden burst of excitement in the Allegro section. The excitement will continue with Lancaster's own father and son piano duo, Dr. Xun Pan and Max Pan, performing Mozart's quirky Concerto for Two Pianos. Then the Lancaster Symphony premieres esteemed composer Oscar Navarro's epic work, Noah's Ark, inspired by the anger of God, the clamor of animals, the flood, and the earth's rebirth. Finally, the concert will conclude with the ever popular Bolero by Ravel. As Ravel composed this piece for a ballet, he said he imagined on stage an "open-air setting with a factory in the background, reflecting the mechanical nature of the music." The performance will run approximately one hour and 40 minutes in length, including a 20-minute intermission. Buy tickets online or call the Fulton box office at 717.397.7425. Tickets start as low as $30 and are expected to sell out.”
