In this course, you will learn the essentials of sewing, making pattern adjustments and fitting via the creation of a personalized and stylish dress or vest. Take a base pattern and learn how to manipulate it to fit their body. Through the process of sewing the garment, you will learn a variety of seaming methods, zipper setting, hemming, setting a lining and setting facings. You will also be guided through the fitting process, making alterations as needed, to ensure perfect fit. Upon completion of this course, students should feel comfortable following basic patterns, and comfortable performing simple pattern alterations. They will also be capable of executing common alterations and repairs to existing garments. Beginner to intermediate skill levels welcome.
