Evangelical - Your Community Hospital
As we celebrate National Hospital Week, we welcome the opportunity to show our great appreciation to the providers, employees, and volunteers at Evangelical Community Hospital for the time and effort they put into making our Hospital the community’s hospital.
We are privileged to be classified as one of the few remaining independent, community hospitals in Pennsylvania. This uniqueness is something we not only take pride in at Evangelical, but something we embrace.
In the last year, we’ve looked at the community we live in and made your concerns, our concerns. Beyond continuing to provide exceptional medical care, we’ve looked at the social issues impacting our communities and made them a priority. We’ve devoted time, effort, and expertise toward human trafficking, mental health/suicide awareness, and opioid/substance abuse. We’ve investigated ways to make a difference in those areas through staff education, adding resources, working with community agencies, instituting protocols and programs, and more.
It takes a committed workforce to engage in these new efforts, and we’re honored at Evangelical to have providers, employees, and volunteers who want to make a difference in the communities in which they work, live, and play. Beyond taking part in addressing social issues, our employees in 2018, reported over 30,000 hours of community volunteer service outside of their roles at the Hospital. These included at churches, at youth activities, at civic organizations, at community outreach programs, and more. Our fine individuals are going above and beyond to be part of the community, not because they are expected to, but because they want to.
We are honored to serve you. We want to continue to expand and rise to meet your needs. We are your Hospital.
