Susquehanna Life Magazine’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Begins

Mar 01, 2018 04:00PM ● By Erica Shames

As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations taking place throughout the region in 2018, Susquehanna Life magazine publisher Erica L. Shames is featuring some of her favorite photos in an exhibit at Gallery 255 in the Public Library for Union County, Lewisburg, throughout the month of March.

The display includes 21 photographs from nearby and around the world, and display cases full of Susquehanna Life magazine memorabilia, including awards won, selected magazine covers, news clips and photographs from throughout the publication’s 25-year history—including a news clip announcing the start-up of the magazine and a framed invitation from the Premiere Issue party held January 1994.

“We’re grateful to the Public Library for Union County, and its director Roberta Greene, for offering Susquehanna Life magazine this opportunity to display its art and history,” said Erica L. Shames, founder and publisher of Susquehanna Life magazine. “We hope many people take the time to come out, celebrate with us, view the display contents and enjoy the heartfelt images displayed in the library foyer.”

As an incentive to view the exhibit, Susquehanna Life magazine is giving away three of the images on display, and five one-year subscriptions to the magazine, through a sweepstakes drawing. To enter, fill out the form available at the library exhibit and place it in the sweepstakes box onsite. Winners will be announced April 10th.

A 25-year Susquehanna Life magazine celebration, one of many scheduled by the publication during 2018, takes place March 22, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Public Library for Union County, in which the public is invited to view the exhibit and enjoy light refreshments.
