Baker Fund Seeks Volunteers

Oct 26, 2017 12:15PM ● By Erica Shames
The Michael P. Baker Community Impact Fund is nearing its last year of fundraising and is seeking volunteers to help reach the goal of $25,000.

"The fundraising committee is half way to our goal of $25,000 to make the Baker Fund live on in perpetuity, distributing $1000 annually to area families coping with catastrophic illness," said Erica Shames, creator of the Baker Fund. "We are lining up a slate of fundraising events for next year and need volunteers to help execute them."

The fundraising committee is looking for all kinds of volunteers - those who are good at organizing, others who excel in soliciting businesses for auction donations, and still others who are energetic and can help wherever the need is greatest.

If you would like to volunteer your time for this worthwhile cause, please contact Erica Shames at (570) 522-0149 during normal business hours or send an email to
