The spring Picnic in the Park is coming up next week on Wednesday, May 18, from 5:30 to 7:30pm in Soldiers Memorial Park on N Water St. The details are now posted on the LNC website and on facebook and the flyer is attached. This only works if lots of people participate. So let’s make a good showing!
You may notice the website looks a bit different. You should still be able to find everything, like the calendar (except the prominently displayed logo), but we finally are deferring to the incessant warnings from wordpress that our site was not indexable by google because it wasn’t mobile friendly. We still have way more content than most will be comfortable perusing on a phone, but we are now passing mobile muster.
Otherwise, aside from all sorts of community activities, including a contra dance at the Community Center this Saturday at 7pm, and a meeting about Turtle Creek Dog Park’s future at the Towne Tavern Shanty on Tuesday, May 17, at 7pm, there’s the statewide historic preservation conference coming up in Lewisburg June 6 through 8. I will be giving a tour of the history of Lewisburg’s waterfront as part of that. If people would like to see that offered independently, please let me know. In addition, we have high hopes for the outcome of the all-day Flood Impact Symposium being held as the final day of the conference, Wednesday, June 8, at the Campus Theatre.
