Take time to celebrate spring and the Berwick community with a day of fun and activities during the 4th annual Celebrate Berwick festival. Celebrate Berwick will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th along the Rt. 11 corridor from Briar Creek to the downtown Berwick area. The Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce along with the Berwick Community created this festival to encourage people to visit Berwick while showing off the borough.
Celebrate Berwick will include sidewalk sales and in-store promotions, food and craft vendors, community organizations, tons of activities for kids, and so much more. In downtown Berwick, Front Street will be closed and filled with crafters and non-profits stretching from Vine Street to Market Street. Throughout the day, the McBride Memorial Library will be hosting a book signing, outdoor stories, and various children’s activities. The Jackson Mansion will be open for tours during the festival, and the Berwick Theatre is hosting an Art Walk.
Be sure to also
see the car cruise-in at First Presbyterian Church on Market Street, organized
by the Northeast Cruisers. For more
information about the car cruise-in, please contact Harry Featherman at
In the First
Keystone Community Bank parking lot, there will be a family-zone with a bounce
house, rescue animals from Young’s Funny Farm, great food, and free activities
organized by the Berwick High School Art Department. K-Mart will have a limited number free gifts
for children who visit the family zone. Ken Pollock Ford-Lincoln, one of the
Gold sponsors of the event, will have several giveaways including a free
detailing, a free “the works” package, a free oil change, and/or a $250 cash
prize. At Eye Care Specialists, there will be a $100 gift card raffle.
A special thank you goes out to
the Berwick Borough, the Public Works Department, the Berwick Police Force, and
the Berwick Fire Police Department. Without the help of the local businesses,
volunteers, and great sponsors, this event would not have been possible.
