Senior filmmaking student at Lycoming University Timothy Vasey, a Lewisburg native, was one of 19 students inducted into Lambda Pi Eta earlier this year. The organization is Lycoming College's National Communication Association's official honor society.

"The junior and senior inductees must be in good standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for all courses and 3.25 for communication studies," a release on Lycoming's official website said. "They also must rank within the highest 35 percent of their respective class in general scholarship."

Vasey is also a part of the Chamber Choir at the college. He sings in the bass/baritone group.

Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities world-wide. The fraternity represents what Aristotle described in The Rhetoric as three ingredients of persuasion: logos (lambda), meaning logic; pathos (pi), relating to emotion; and ethos (eta), defined as character credibility and ethics. Lambda Pi Eta recognizes, fosters, and rewards outstanding scholastic achievement while stimulating interest in the communication discipline.
