Publisher, Intern Present Intrapreneurship Experiences With Meetup Group

Oct 05, 2015 08:10PM ● By Erica Shames

Susquehanna Life Magazine publisher Erica Shames, along with Bucknell University fall semester intern Becky Chambers, attended the Tech Meetup Lewisburg meeting to share the ways intrapreneurship practices have helped shape the future direction of the magazine.

Specifically, Shames referenced the startup of the Museum and Gallery guide nearly 15 years ago, the development of a digital version of the magazine in 2012, and late in 2014 the expansion of the Susquehanna Life magazine community, built within the pages of the magazine over the past 22 years, to the Internet., a company adept at social media and regional magazines, developed the web site and expanded and took control of Susquehanna Life magazine’s social media activities. Both have offered advantages: Susquehanna Life, a quarterly magazine, is now able to disseminate more content in a timely way, and it has opened up new revenue streams through traditional banner advertising and sponsorship of online guides, including the Organics GuidePumpkin Patch guide and Corn Maze Guide, currently online.

Also sharing information at the meeting were Allan Woolway (far right), Bill Geise and Adrian (not pictured).
