Letters to the Editor - Fall 2015

Aug 29, 2015 01:45PM ● By Erica Shames

Dear Editor,

I have seen your magazine in so many waiting rooms and I finally said, ‘I want this.’  We like to go for drives and now I will have some places to go in the area.  I love the pictures and stories.  It is a beautiful magazine for our area.  I will recommend it to my friends.  Keep up the great work; it is appreciated.

Hi Erica,

After living in the Susquehanna Valley for almost 30 years, and Lewisburg for 20, we had to move out of the area, to Albany, NY.  Receiving [Susquehanna Life magazine] will keep us in touch with the area in which we spent all of our married life, and where both of our kids were born and raised!

Thanks!

Jeff and Lori Cunningham

Dear Editor,

Catherine O'Neil’s article on the rescue of her daughter Madeline’s painting after the fire at the Moose Exchange in Bloomsburg was charming. I am thrilled that Madeline is continuing her lessons. As an art educator and tenant at the Moose Exchange I loved peeking into Larry Ney’s studio to see what Madeline had been working on.

Catherine graciously included me in the list of artists who lost work in the tragic fire; however, Annie Barnhardt and I had left the Exchange the month before the fire and were spared the heartache our fellow artists/tenants endured.

The Stairwell Gallery, which was part of the Exchange, is still thriving in a storefront called The Antler on Main Street and a number of former tenants exhibit there. In fact, I hope Madeline joins us! More info is available on the Stairwell Gallery’s Facebook page.

Sincerely, Cindy McBeth-Collins

Dear Editor,

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your magazine! After living in the area for close to 40 years I really look forward to each edition to learn about the many attractions, opportunities and venues that I’ve either taken for granted or driven past hundreds of times and never taken the time to explore.

Dear Editor,

I recently picked up a copy of Susquehanna Life magazine and realized that, between the articles and advertisements, the content gives us interesting information and is a good way to begin re-exploring PA as adults.

Dear Editor,

I found myself very interested in your articles since they relate to our area. The advertising is very interesting, too. I didn’t realize some of those businesses even existed had it not been for the magazine!
