19th Annual Juried Photography Show Opens Tonight

The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs 19th Annual Juried Photography Show opens on Friday, May 1st at 6 pm at the Taber Museum.
The show opens with a wine and cheese reception.
The contest is open to the public and each photographer can enter up to 4 photographs. All entries are judged by a panel of three judges with recognized expertise in photography and fine art. Photographs will be exhibited at the Thomas T. Taber Museum of the Lycoming County Historical Society from May 1 to May 31, 2015.
Cash prizes are awarded (over $1,300), making it the largest prize money awarded show in the area. Usually the number of entries for this show far exceed the wall space available; so simply being selected to be in the show is an honor.
Color and black-and-white photographs will be judged together.
Ribbons &Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:
Best in Show - $500.00,
First Place - $300.00,
Second Place - $200.00,
Third Place - $100.00,
Honorable Mention - $ 75.00,
Judge's Choice (1 per judge= 3 ribbons) - $50.00 each
The Susquehanna Valley Shutterbugs is comprised of both amateur and professional photographers of diverse talents and backgrounds who all share the common pursuit of enhancing their skills and knowledge. The organization began in February of 1993 and has an annual membership which averages somewhere between 25 and 50 people of all ages from throughout the Susquehanna Valley.
The Shutterbugs meet the fourth Monday of the month at the Lycoming County Historical Society 858 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 at 6:00 P.M.
The meetings are open to the public. Enter using the side door.
The meetings are divided into two parts. The first part is a short business meeting to discuss club business followed by an educational program, which can range from an instructional video to a featured guest speaker.
So, whether you are 16 or 60, shoot with a point and shoot, a digital SLR or even film on a 4x5, come join us! There is something of interest for everyone.
In addition to monthly meetings, the Shutterbugs conduct three (3) yearly photo shows, which are held at the Thomas Taber Museum.
