Feb 09, 2015 11:40AM ● By Erica Shames

The Weis Center for the Performing Arts at Bucknell University - Lewisburg, PA will welcome classical ensemble Trio Solisti on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Weis Center.

The program includes Rachmaninoff's Trio No. 1 in G minor; Turina's Trio No. 2 in B minor, Op. 76; Liebermann's Trio No. 3, Op. 122; and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Trio Solisti, a "trio of soloists," has forged its reputation as "the most exciting piano trio in America" (The New Yorker Magazine) with a performance style that combines exceptional virtuosity and penetrating musical insight, with a repertoire which encompasses most of the standard trio repertoire as well as many new works by contemporary composers.

The trio — Maria Bachmann, violin, Alexis Pia Gerlach, cello, and Adam Neiman, piano — serves as Ensemble-in-Residence at Adelphi University, presenting concerts and master classes, and conducting in-depth work with student composers.

Founded in 2001, Trio Solisti has performed at many of America's important concert venues and cultural institutions. The trio founded Telluride MusicFest, an annual chamber music festival in the mountains of Colorado in which the ensemble presents two weeks of performances with celebrity guest artists.

Tickets for the performance are $20 for adults, $16 for seniors 62+, $10 for youth 18 and under, $10 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for non-Bucknell students and $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2).

Tickets can be purchased online at or by calling the Campus Box Office at 570-577-1000.
