Elementary Teachers Can Now Receive Rotary Honors

Dec 06, 2014 09:30AM ● By Kevin
For many years, the Susquehanna Township Rotary Club has honored Susquehanna Township High and Middle School teachers each month. The goal of the award is to recognize teachers for excellence in the classroom and service to their schools.

Now, according to a Nov. 26 report by M. Diane McCormick of PennLive, the club has changed its monthly honor to also recognize
teachers, janitors, secretaries, lunch ladies, and anyone else working in the district and making a difference to inspire students. Elementary school teachers are now also eligible for rotary honors.

The inaugural honorees were
Lindemuth Primary School teacher JoEllen Showers, and Holtzman Elementary fifth-grade math teacher and math department chair Shannon McNelly.
