A critical trail gap was closed Nov. 1 when a 330-foot- long, 6-foot- high riverside walkway opened to the public near Bainbridge, PA, along the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail.

The walkway allows trail users to navigate under the Shock's Mill Bridge between sections of trail from Bainbridge to East Donegal Township. Now pedestrians and cyclists can enjoy the river views and trail continuously from Decatur Street in Marietta to the riverfront park in Bainbridge, a distance of 6.5 miles.
