Modern Art Against Myeloma Fundraiser

Oct 01, 2014 09:27PM ● Published by Erica Shames

John Bianco, of Springs Window Fashions, Williamsport, is hosting Modern Art Against Myeloma, an exhibit and sale to raise funds for the Susquehanna Health Cancer Center and the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) Oct. 3 and 4 at the Holiday Inn, Gallery Room, 100 Pine St., Williamsport.

Bianco is a 14-year survivor of Myeloma and art is one of his passions. “We have a great line up of art, with a little something for everyone, whether they like to just enjoy viewing or are casual or serious collectors,” he said. “The slate of items for sale includes some great Chagall etchings from the 1920s and 30s and lithographs, as well as an original Franscoise Gilot ink drawing and some great paintings by Smokey Tunis, Dali and Francisco Poblet, who studied with Dali, and many more.”

“We would like to invite as many cancer patients and their caregivers to attend and enjoy the art and to network with each other,” Bianco continued. “I will be available to speak with them one-on-one, if they desire. I will also provide information on the IMF.”
